Международная конференция «Современный «культ памятников» – политический инструмент или достояние поколений?»
Уважаемые коллеги!
18 апреля мировое научное и культурное сообщество отмечают Международный день памятников и исторических мест (International Day for Monuments and Sites), установленный в 1983 году Ассамблеей Международного совета по вопросам охраны памятников и достопримечательных мест (ИКОМОС), созданной при ЮНЕСКО, с целью привлечь внимание общественности к вопросам защиты и сохранения всемирного культурного наследия. Доброй традицией во всем мире стало проведение различных мероприятий, приуроченных к этому празднику.
Этот день известен также как День всемирного наследия, борьба за сохранение которого в наше время приобретает особую остроту и, порой, политический окрас.
Инициативная группа экспертов МИД России, ЦСА ИИМК РАН, НК ИКОМОС Россия, Государственного Эрмитажа и Союза реставраторов Санкт-Петербурга предлагает обсудить различные аспекты, касающиеся роли культурного наследия в современном мире в ходе работы Конференции «Современный «культ памятников» – политический инструмент или достояние поколений?»
Конференция состоится 21 апреля 2025 года и будет проходить в зале Лектория Главного Штаба Эрмитажа в очно-заочном формате с синхронным переводом на английский язык (Программа прилагается)

International conference «The modern ‘cult of monuments’ – political instrument or legacy of generations?”
Dear colleagues,
On April 18, the international academic and cultural community celebrates the International Day for Monuments and Sites, established in 1983 by the General Assembly of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) under UNESCO, with the aim of drawing public attention to the protection and preservation of global cultural heritage. It has become a good tradition around the
world to hold various events in celebration of this day.
This date is also known as World Heritage Day, and the struggle for the heritage preservation has become increasingly acute in our time, often acquiring a political dimension.
An initiative group of experts from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rescue Archaeology Center of the Institute for the History of Material Culture RAS, the National Committee of ICOMOS Russia, the State Hermitage Museum, and the Union of Restorers of St. Petersburg proposes to discuss various aspects of the role of cultural heritage in the modern world at the conference “The Modern ‘Cult of Monuments’ – Political Instrument or Legacy of Generations?”
The conference will take place on April 21, 2025, in the Lecture Hall of the General Staff Building of the Hermitage Museum, in hybrid format with simultaneous interpretation into English.
